Come to Story Time – a fun early literacy program for kids 5 and under. Join us for interactive stories, songs, rhymes, and crafts. The early literacy practices featured each week help build the foundation for a lifelong love of reading and learning. For parents and caregivers, story time offers an opportunity to experience early literacy practices in action, discover great books and resources for home use, and socialize with other parents after Story Time. Wednesday and Friday sessions share a theme with something new each week. Sign-up is not required. Story times are held on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:45 a.m.

The Huntsville Public Library is pleased to announce an opportunity for genealogy enthusiasts and newcomers alike to meet with an experienced and qualified genealogical researcher. Two-hour sessions will be offered the first and third Fridays through June. Sessions will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendance will be limited to no more than three researchers. The small group will allow each participant to receive individual attention. Sharon Vann has volunteered to assist local researchers with the skills and knowledge she has acquired over many years of family research. Vann has worked since 2006 organizing and teaching family history interest groups in her church. She has spent the last several years giving one-on- one help to those interested in learning how to use Family Search as a research tool. Interested persons should contact Mary

“So many things are possible just as long as you don't know they're impossible.” Norton Juster’s famous book The Phantom Tollbooth tells the tale of a young boy who receives a mysterious tollbooth which transports him to the Kingdom of Wisdom. The First Friday Book Club will be discussing The Phantom Tollbooth at 1 p.m. Friday, May 4 at the Huntsville Public Library. Join your friends and neighbors for a Midday Movie Matinee at the Huntsville Public Library. Screenings of American classic movies will be shown on the first Fridays of each month from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Midday Movie Matinee will be followed by Family Movie Night at 5:30 p.m. Complimentary popcorn will be served at both events and attendees may bring non-alcoholic drinks in non-spill containers. If attending Family Movie Night, don’t forget your pillows and blankets.
